How SilcSkin Works

When the SilcSkin silicone pads are worn, the pressure provided by the pads stimulates the collagen and cell growth and increases the blood flow which helps to improve skin tone. Silicone moisturizes the skin by drawing the skin’s natural moisture to the surface, plumping out the existing wrinkles. Silicone scar sheets have been used in the medical industry to heal scars after regular surgery, from acne, and plastic surgery. They create an occlusive barrier which hydrates the skin, pulling the skin’s moisture to the surface. We are treating wrinkles, fine lines and crepey skin in very much the same way.* SilcSkin anti-wrinkle pads are made from 100% medical-grade silicone that has been processed using a platinum curing method. This ensures a residue free silicone so it can be used on even the most sensitive skin**. SilcSkin silicone does not contain any fillers or adhesives.

What Are SilcSkin Pads Made From?

Our pads are made from 100% medical-grade silicone, the same type that is used in the medical industry for treating scars and burns. There are no allergy causing additives or adhesives used in the manufacturing process. In fact, SilcSkin pads are manufactured using a platinum curing process that They are not transdermal and therefore do not penetrate your skin. All our pads, except for our Eye Pads last 30 days or 30 applications depending on usage. After this period, the pads will lose their adhesive properties and need to be replaced. Eye Pads last a minimum of 15 applications. For best results, wear our pads for approimately 7-8 hours.

Why SilcSkin uses platinum cured silicone

Most medical silicones are cured with either peroxide or platinum. The peroxide system requires post-baking to remove byproducts such as volatile organic acids. By contrast, the platinum curing or addition system does not. Since there are no byproducts to remove, platinum curing is cleaner. Because of its withstanding characteristics, platinum cured silicone is used when it is necessary to avoid any possible risk of contamination, which is why platinum-cured silicone is often preferred for sensitive environments such as medical and FDA applications. Platinum cured silicone is non-toxic as well as non-yellowing. And last but not least, physical properties are better with platinum cured silicone, especially tensile strength and tear strength

How do I use SilcSkin?

Make sure your skin is thoroughly clean, dry and free of moisturizers, sunscreens, etc. Sweating at night may interfere with adhesion. Dry skin well.

Remove pad from packaging. Remove the storage tray. Cut open poly bag containing the pad. Remove pad from backing.

Apply the sticky side of the pad to the desired area - the pad is self-adhesive. Press evenly against your skin to smooth out the wrinkles underneath. For best results, use at bedtime.

In the morning, remove the pads slowly in an outwards motion. Store the pad in the enclosed tray, and reuse.
