Men get wrinkles too! As people age, their skin produces more wrinkles. It’s a natural part of life. With age, the body produces less collagen and elastin — the proteins that give skin its structure and flexibility. The muscles in the forehead area add to this issue by creasing the skin every time a frown happens, or when an eyebrow is raised. with repetition, the skin creases get deeper and more prominent. Genetics and lifestyle also play a role. Some people are just prone to a lot of wrinkles. Lifestyle choices such as smoking, handling stress, failing to drink enough water or not eating enough nutritious foods can make a person susceptible to early onset of wrinkles. 

Whatever the cause of forehead wrinkles, they are often an unwelcome sight. There’s a lot of skin care and facial treatments for women, but when it comes to men, they’re a little more reserved buying products that are traditionally marketed to women. That said, there’s ways that men can get help with their forehead wrinkles.

Get a moisturizer that’s supplemented with vitamins, minerals, nutrients and antioxidants. You can use a moisturizer in the privacy of your home so no one will be the wiser.

SUNSCREEN: A sunscreen can be your best friend. One with a SPF of at least 15 (one with SPF of 30 is better if you’re outdoors for a lengthy amount of time) can help protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Direct exposure to the sun can speed up the formation of wrinkles. 

HYDRATE: Drinking enough water can’t be overstated. If you don’t get enough water, your body dehydrates which can lead to parched, wrinkled skin. Water is essential to maintain skin’s moisture and to deliver nutrients to the skin cells. It replenishes skin tissue and increases its elasticity. For soft and supple skin, drinking enough water is more important than applying creams. 

BAD HABITS: Smoking is your enemy. Whether its a cigar or a cigarette, take a firm stand and say no.

NUTRITION: Diet plays a huge role in your skin’s health. Eating foods that are high in antioxidants are critical in fighting off free radicals which can age your skin. Increase your daily dose of fruits and vegetables and cut down on processed foods, excessive sugar and alcohol.
