Those Forehead Wrinkles!

Forehead wrinkles can be very noticeable, especially if your hairstyle is not covering that area. No matter how well you take care of your skin, wrinkles are inevitable, but what makes the forehead susceptible to wrinkling is partly due to the continuous furrowing of the skin due to expression changes.

Forehead wrinkles can develop as young as 20 years old and on the other hand, some people may not get them until they are much older. Some of the predetermining factors are how well you take care of your skin. There are several types of forehead wrinkles:

Atrophic Crinkles and Rhytids:
Fine lines that run parallel to each other, usually caused by weak skin elasticity and lack of firmness.

Permanent Elastic Creases:
Light creases that grow deeper and more visible with time. Sun exposure increases the appearance of these wrinkles.

Dynamic Expression Lines:
Caused by frequently occurring expressions. They usually appear at the side of the eyes (aka crow’s feet wrinkles), frown lines and the side of the mouth.

Gravitational Folds:
Wrinkles caused by gravity, where the thin folds of the skin droop.

The forehead has a combination of these wrinkles. Repairing the damage is possible, but it requires patience and tenacity. Below are some tips that can help:

Flaxseed Oil Remedy:
Ingest a tablespoon of this oil two to four times in a day. Continue this for a couple of weeks and you should see a difference in the frown lines on your forehead. Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and an array of antioxidants. When ingested, these lubricate the skin and plump up the outer layers, thus reducing the fine lines and wrinkles.

Aloe Vera Gel With Egg White:
2 tablespoons fresh aloe vera gel
1 egg white
Mix the egg white and aloe vera gel and apply this concoction on your forehead. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Apply this pack two to three times a week. Both aloe vera and egg white are rich sources of vitamin E. Aloe vera keeps the skin nourished and supple and it contains malic acid that is known to reduce fine lines. The albumin present in egg white tightens and tones the skin.

Almond Oil or Olive Oil For Forehead Wrinkles:
Apply a few drops of the oil on the forehead and massage for a few minutes. Leave it on. You should do this before going to bed so that the oil works on your skin all night long. Almond oil makes the skin smooth and also rejuvenates it and its emollient property keeps the skin moisturized and hydrated. Olive oil is an excellent moisturizer that hydrates your skin. The gentle massage will improve circulation and massaging will help relax your facial muscles.

These are just a few remedies for you to try out. Just remember that there’s a lot of factors that influence how and why wrinkles form. Make sure you eat healthy, drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun when possible and get enough sleep. All these things working together will provide the best solution for those wrinkles.
