Four Drinks Before Summer Ends

So there’s not a whole lot of women out there who enjoy whiskey! Usually it’s the sweeter drinks that are preferred by women, and the strong, throat searing drinks like whiskey and bourbon that men love.

However, whiskey’s popularity with women is on the rise. To get you started, here are 4 awesome recipes that you should try out before Summer ends.

1 ounce lemon juice

1 ounce sugar

2 ounces water

1 1/2 ounces of Scotch whiskey

Maraschino cherry

To make the sour mix, combine the lemon juice, sugar and water. Stir briskly to dissolve. Combine the whiskey and the sour mix in a large glass. Add some ice, stir and garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

1 tsb sugar

A few blackberries and raspberries

I medium fig, quartered

2 dashes of bitters

2 ounces Scotch whiskey

Muddle and stir sugar, berries, fig and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Add the whiskey, and stir to combine. Pour the strained mixture over ice and serve garnished with a fig slice.

2 cups water

1 1/4 cups white sugar

1/2 cup chopped mint leaves

32 ounces Bourbon

Combine the water, sugar and chopped mint leaves in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow syrup to cool, approximately 1 hour. Pour syrup through a strainer.
